Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Kathy, Karmen, Josh, Jackson and Olive came to our house. After running the turkey trot last year we decided to make it a tradition so that is how we started our Thanksgiving day, with a 5K. It was absolutely freezing but we all did it. Here are a couple racing pictures. We also had Karmen and Mary running but I didn't find any pictures of them. It was a great run. I had kind of been training for this cause I wanted to do better than last year. My goal was to do it 10 minutes faster. I really didn't know if I would be able to do it but when they said go I just took off. It felt so good. Last year my time was 43:34, this year I was clocked at 33:25!!!! I was so excited that I reached my goal. And I was also keeping time on my watch and the time on there was 32:52 so that make it almost 11 minutes faster than last year. Either way I was Happy!!!! I was also happy that Brandon did it with me. He was not feeling well so I don't think he did as well as he wanted but we finished together which I thought was great. His time was 33:43.
Here are out post run pictures. I think we all look pretty good for just running 3.1 miles!!! Once this excitement was over we headed home for more excitement. It was time to make the turkey!!! But this turkey was made by Josh, Jackson and Olive.
How cute is that turkey! It was fun to make and even more fun to eat. (just ask Olive)

After making our turkey we got to lay around and nap for awhile cause luckly for us we did not have a huge dinner to make. Why you may ask? Cause we modified dinner this year. On the menu was Turkey burgers, sweet potatoes fries, green beans, stove top stuffing, jello salad and corn bread. All super easy to make and all super delicious. It was nice to not have to stress over a meal. We just enjoyed out time together.

Later on this weekend Brandon took the kids to the fire station. He loves to take kids there cause they all just love it. While we were there Brandon decided to take everyones vitals so he could fill out his sheet for school. The kids were not to sure what to think about that.

It was a wondeful weekend and we were sad to see everyone leave. But we look forward to the upcoming Christmas season. Just wait until you hear about that adventure ;).............................
